Tehran, November 15 (MRUD NEWS)—Following Iran's transport policy for completion of domestic and international corridors to take advantage of transit potentials, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mahrdad Bazrpash, inaugurated a new passenger terminal at Kish International Airport as the 3rd largest international terminal of Iran.

Air transport in Kish Island has strategic importance for development of the region as well as attraction of FDI because it is the main transport mode for passengers and cargo transport. 

Speaking in the formal ceremony, Bazrpash informed of new approaches for management and development of the free economic zones to attract investment, logistic, and transit opportunities. 

The new passenger terminal of Kish International Airport is the third largest airport terminal in Iran with 6 passenger entrance gates and capacity of 6 million passengers a year. 

The total area of this airport is 25 hectares, and the substructure of the terminal building is 49,000 square meters.
